Frequently Asked Questions About the Serenity Hospice Care Acquisition in Georgia

Why did Agape Care Group decide to acquire Serenity Hospice Care?

One of the goals of Agape Care Group is to grow and become the leading provider of hospice and palliative care across the Southeast region.

The acquisition of Serenity Hospice Care in Dublin, Georgia, expands our presence to 52 counties in Georgia, covering 33% of the state. Our combined organization now has over 1,000 employees caring for more than 1,800 patients across the Southeast region.

How will this combined organization benefit patients and the community?

We decided to take this step forward to enhance our ability to respond to our patients’ needs, capitalizing on the talent and connections of each organization.

According to the U.S. Census, Georgia had over 1.4 million residents above age 65 between 2015 and 2019. That number is only expected to grow. Compounding that, most of the geographic area of the state is considered a Medically Underserved Area — 141 of 159 counties, as of 2018. This endeavor allows our teams to reach more patients across the state who would benefit from high-quality hospice and palliative care.
